Yorkville Firehall
My dad just retired from Toronto Fire after 35 years on the job. He had the pleasure of spending his last few years at one of the oldest and most beautiful firehalls in the city, located in the heart of Yorkville. This is the print that I presented to him as his retirement gift.

It’s been a long while since my last post since I’ve been compiling content for a new website. That site should go public this week, and you will be the first to know.

Toronto 2010
It was a beautiful day to spend on Toronto Island, and we found a quiet patch of beach to take some city shots from. With some gear help and advice from my buddy Brian, we set up the camera with two ND8 neutral density filters, an ND4, and a circular polarizer (on top of a UV filter, which at this point was probably unnecessary). This allowed us to take a 30 second exposure on a sunny16 type of day (that Brian has some crazy ideas). The polarizer let us see the bottom of the lake, and the long exposure smooths the waves and removes any moving vehicles. Gives an HDR type effect without the multiple exposures. As for composition, I think I got lucky with this one. Last shot of the day. The rest were rubbish.
